Should I be brave enough to update #garuda while Steam downloads 4 games?

Help! Im replacing my 13y/o tower /w a #miniPC (#AMD #Ryzen based) as my my main & want Linux powering it. Have exp /w #Unbuntu, #Mint, #Manjaro, #Q4 and Pi-OS, so I've got some knowledge. But, I'm not sure what distro may best meet my needs (smth /w gaming in mind?). #KDE is my pref DE, mostly daily browsing, but also gaming. Steam/GOG & #Emulation - prob not bleeding edge. Eyeing base #Debian & #Arch; are gaming focused distos useful? #Garuda decent? Thanks in advance for any comments!

@killyourfm Was using Garuda for a long time. Made the switch to Nobara a few months ago and still liking it. All games running smoothly on both os.
Been playing with Nixos. I like the idea that nix might be better than the Aur. Garuda has a nix flake module. So that could be the best of both worlds. Still in the VM and not on real hardware yet.

Feeling a little weird being on the bleeding edge, but I just updated to the 6.13.1 Linux kernel on my Garuda install. Initial impressions are fantastic - super stable and smooth. Everything I've tested so far is working perfectly. Next up: gaming! Hopefully, this upgrade goes better than some past Arch experiences...

Having issues compiling MonoGame on Garuda Linux with an Nvidia 3070 Ti. Getting GLX context creation errors:
Error: BadValue (integer parameter out of range)
Major opcode: 150 (GLX)
Minor opcode: 3 (X_GLXCreateContext)
System checks show:
xrandr reports 0 providers
lsmod confirms nvidia modules are loaded
Need help verifying proper Nvidia driver setup. Any Garuda/Arch Linux folks have experience with this?
I can provide a gist with any other commands/output needed. Thanks in advance!

@FrankBlack78 @gerowen when I use #Garuda previously, I had similar issues. But I currently have Garuda installed on a #Intel desktop with #NVIDIA and it works very well. 6.13 #zen #Wayland #Proton #Steam #Linux #GamingOnLinux #LinuxGaming

@gerowen have you consider using an #Arch #Linux distribution?
All of the #Mesa software is up to date and available in the main repositories. For gaming I recommend Garuda

@vetgaming Yeah #Garuda is a great OS for gaming. It can be unstable and can require #Linux system admin knowledge or more frequent reinstalls of software and OS.
It is wonderful at running at or near the bleeding edge of software. That system is also running the 6.12 Zen kernel and #Wayland
