Thanks to everyone who voted.The clear winner is <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/C" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#C</a>, and I guess that's an obvious choice. The TopSpeed C compiler shipped with the <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Psion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Psion</a> SIBO C SDK, and C is still a very popular and useful language today.I'm really pleased that <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Pascal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Pascal</a> was in second place; it's not a language du jour but it's one of my favourites (see <a href="https://github.com/thelastpsion/ctran" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">CTRAN</a>, my recreation of Psion's OO C preprocessor) and great for beginners.<a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Rust" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Rust</a> came next.
