Otter Side
Any #Debian folks who could help me out? I have Debian 12 with kernel 6.12.22 installed from the backports repo, which suddenly stopped working and doesn't boot to display manager any more. SDDM just gets stuck, LightDM fails with an error message about failing to load lightdm.service, and if I try to start a Plasma session (Wayland) from the terminal, it complains about not being able to find $DISPLAY.

I have purged lightdm and reinstalled it, I have reinstalled gtk-greeter and the the kernel packages, but nothing works. I'm currently back to running kernel 6.12.12 and switched over to SDDM again. The only relevant thing I can figure out from the logs is that when lightdm fails, there is an error message about missing /var/lib/lightdm/data directory (with kernel 6.12.12 that directory is exists).

Anyone else encounter this?

#linux #debian12
