Finally decided I don't like paying $300/yr for an iDrive E2 (s3) offsite backup solution and almost bought another <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/synology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>synology</span></a> 2 drive unit to setup a remote backup it my son's place but decided to simply buy a 16TB external USB and hooked it up to a Raspberry Pi 5 I had sitting around and using a simple rsync HyperBackup target for it. Once the initial seeding is done, I'll setup a <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/twingate" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>twingate</span></a> connection for the remote connection. I also had a 2017 HPE Microserver G10 that used to run VMware ESXi. I've moved to <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/proxmox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>proxmox</span></a> and was going to sell the HP but installed <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/TrueNas" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TrueNas</span></a> on it the other day and going to play with that.</p>
