PSA: Please do not enable the setting "Block penetration testing attacks" [sic] in Malwarebytes.
As the name suggests, this is not recommended for use by the public, and may break many legitimate applications.
Infosec YouTubers have been recommending this for years, and Malwarebytes support has to deal with the consequences.
On a related topic, if you are a YouTuber with a large following who is known and trusted for security advice, please check with the developer before recommending use of a hidden undocumented feature. Not calling out anyone in particular, definitely not commenting on a large security YouTuber who put out a video criticizing Malwarebytes recently and tested it with that "feature" enabled...

Looking for current antivirus recommendations in the US please. I haven’t kept up and sites I use to rely on for info have deteriorated. Wish I had time to learn Linux. I use Malwarebytes; is the Windows Defender really enough? Want to get away from bloatware like Norton (crypto miner) & avoid spyware (Kaspersky, Avast). TYSM for any input #Antivirus #Windows #Malwarebytes #Software
