Highest SARS2 positivity among ARI since the large wave last May.
Not clear to me if NB.1.8.1* is the cause.

Basically every political party that said ‘tariffs won’t really impact us / it’s no big deal / someone else will take care of that’ got their asses handed to them by Singapore voters, who are incredibly conscious of being from a place that is entirely about global trade. Ups and downs of global trade impact lives and jobs very quickly there.
It also sounds shocking out of touch and dismissive.
Trade is so important to us that even the aunties at the local coffee shop know the exchange rate of SGD to a few major world currencies.
Anyone who still believes our elections are only about domestic policies probably doesn’t believe it anymore.

What parliament would look like if the opposition with 40% of the votes in a constituency manages to win that constituency in 2020.
This shows what could have been.
As I had done previously several years ago. I've created a new graphic to show what could be possible if we had proportional voting. #Singapore #politics #elections #tootsea

Early results from Singapore elections show a strong mandate for the ruling party, while the leading opposition party WP will likely hold on to the seats it’s got.
There is a real climate of fear now (tariffs will impact us greatly, and we feel very stuck between the U.S. and China on many aspects). Not surprised that people are going for the ‘safety’ of the only thing most of us have ever known. Despite the rhetoric of the Shut It All Down, no more immigration people, nobody really wants.. that.
Other than the WP and PSP, there aren’t any parties I could in good conscience vote for. I hope that WP will continue to expand and grow.
