A few shots of the Red Rock Balloon Rally balloon glows. The balloon glow is held at Red Rock Park on Friday night, with a bonfire and dancers (usually Zuni Pueblo and White Mountain Apache Crown dancers). The Saturday balloon glow is at Rio West Mall in Gallup. There is a parking fee at Red Rock Park, but no entrance fee for the rally and the balloon glow at the mall is free.

I enjoyed a beautiful weekend of balloons at Red Rock Balloon Rally in Gallup. They had to cancel mass ascension on Sunday due to canyon winds, but Friday and Saturday were glorious and the weather couldn't have been better. Balloons and bluebird skies.

Heading to Gallup for Red Rock Balloon Rally this weekend. Starts tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 6. Mass ascension Fri, Sat, and Sun (depending on weather).

2021 was perfect. I didn't go in 2022 and the weather didn't cooperate at all last year, with snow, ice, and wind grounding the balloons all three days. Hopefully, Red Rock has the same good fortune as Fiesta 2024. Weather/wind report looks favorable.

This morning was fantastic. If the balloons launch tomorrow, it will be 9 for 9 days. No weather cancellations. I don't know if that has ever happened before.

I didn't take many photos this morning. Live-streaming short bits on multiple platforms. A few balloons got low enough to splash and dash further south, but most of them were too high to make the drop. Beautiful morning.
