So moving on from Christmas Evil, I then covered New Year's Evil, another endlessly interesting and watchable slasher from Cannon Films. However, it's interesting and watchable for different reasons. It's a bad movie that is one of those fun ones.

Is there any horror sequel more interesting than The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2? I doubt it. It's a large departure from the original that makes it a target of detractors but also sets the stage for pretty much what to expect for the rest of the franchise's history.

Finally saw Texas Chain Saw Massacre 2 yesterday. Really enjoyed it. Compared to the original, it's silly, but also scarier, I think. Definitely more entertaining. The original was kind of slow.

The Barbarians is so stupid; I love it.
The characters are hilariously dumb.
The protagonists are the oiliest, most roided up pair of twins I've ever seen, with a ridiculous donkey laugh.
But what makes it really worth watching are the set and character designs. They capture this great heavy metal aesthetic that personifies the kind of D&D setting I've always wanted to run someday.

Moonfall was really good! I was expecting it to be super cheesy like The Core, but it was pretty competent and fun. Had some ideas I don't think I've seen before in a sci-fi, but I'm no scholar.
Next up: the Barbarians. You know you're gonna be in for a great time when the Cannon Films logo appears on the screen and the upbeat techno kicks in.

Next, I want to see more Cannon movies. Bloodsport was fantastic.
Maybe I'll watch King Solomon's Mines next. I remember I saw it once as a young kid, and I enjoyed it then. I don't think I've ever heard anyone ever talk about it since.
Finally got a day off after some long months at work. That means it's time to kick back and watch bad movies!
First up is Bloodsport. I've never seen a Cannon movie before, but always heard great things. 20 minutes into Bloodsport and the dialogue is *amazing*.
